Footnote
Use Better Pages Footnote for a source note or short explanation that would distract from the main sentence.
Add a footnote
Section titled “Add a footnote”- Insert Better Pages Footnote immediately after the relevant text.
- Enter the note, up to 2,000 characters.
- Add a Footnote Summary later on the page.
- Publish and check the assigned number and summary link.
Numbers are assigned from the order of published Footnotes. A marker shows a preview on hover or keyboard focus and links to the collected note.
The next Footnote Summary collects Footnotes above it, stopping at the previous summary in the same page scope.
Good practice
Section titled “Good practice”- Keep the note focused; use a child page for substantial detail.
- Place the macro directly after the statement it supports.
- Always include a summary for a complete keyboard and reading path.
- Recheck numbering after moving or deleting references.
