Better Pages for Confluence
Better Pages gives Confluence authors a practical set of visual and interactive building blocks. Use it to turn a long document into an easy-to-navigate page, create a polished space home, highlight an announcement, or present technical content without writing code.
The app is designed for everyday Confluence authors. Add a macro, configure it in a visual editor, preview the result, and publish it as part of a normal Confluence page.
Choose the right workflow
Section titled “Choose the right workflow”| Your job | Use |
|---|---|
| Improve one page with a visual or interactive element | Insert a component from the Macro Catalog |
| Start a new page with a useful structure | Browse Templates and Better Pages Home |
| Reshape existing content or stage several coordinated changes | Open Smart Designer from the published page |
| Review or change several pages across spaces | Use Space Manager and confirm its plan |
| Give authors approved colors, images, and icons | Publish Brand Kits and Colors |
| Apply consistent heading numbers | Use Numbered Headings |
These paths complement the normal Confluence editor. Use a page macro for a reader-facing component and an app tool for a page-level or space-level task.

More than macros
Section titled “More than macros”Better Pages also includes workflows for larger page-building tasks:
- Templates and Better Pages Home provide 49 editable starters and an optional multi-page delivery journey.
- Smart Designer formats selected content, stages any of the 19 components, and edits supported native blocks.
- Space Manager inventories accessible content and previews permission-checked page operations.
- Numbered Headings applies a maintained numbering scheme to a page outline.
- Brand Kits and Colors give authors reusable, administrator-published visual choices.
Designed to work with Confluence
Section titled “Designed to work with Confluence”Better Pages macros live inside Confluence pages and follow the permissions of the signed-in user. They do not bypass page or space restrictions. Rich-body macros continue to use the Confluence editor for their content, while visual settings are managed in the Better Pages configuration panel.
Interactive controls are keyboard accessible and adapt to narrow screens.
A good first page
Section titled “A good first page”For your first Better Pages page, try this simple structure:
- Add an Alert for the most important update.
- Add Advanced Cards for the main destinations or owners.
- Add Tabs to divide detailed content into a few clear sections.
- Add one Button for the primary next action.
Continue with Getting started to build it step by step.
Availability and migration
Section titled “Availability and migration”Better Pages is a paid Marketplace app for Confluence Cloud. Installation, evaluation, subscription, and billing are managed by Atlassian Marketplace. It does not automatically read or convert content owned by third-party Data Center apps. Data Center migration is not part of the current app experience.
